The Inspiring Journey of Misty Copeland

Misty Copeland has achieved extraordinary success in a field that has traditionally been dominated by white, European dancers. She has become the first African American female principal dancer in the prestigious American Ballet Theatre's 75-year history. Born on September 10, 1982, in Kansas City, Missouri, Misty had a difficult childhood, marked by poverty, family instability, and frequent moves. Despite these challenges, Misty has found the strength to overcome them and has become a beacon of hope for young dancers of color.
